Company history and activities

K.Gjertsen & Co was formed in 1962 by Capt. Konrad Gjertsen who had been leading several other Ship Supply companies for many years. K.Gjertsen & Co have from that point grown to be one of the largest, if not the largest Ships Ship Suppliers in Antwerp and the Schelde waterways.

As of today the KG&Co supply all kind of ship stores to most port in Europe such as Hamburg-Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Vlissingen-Zeebrugge-Ghent-Dunkirk-Le Havre and naturally Antwerp. We have recently delivered Cabin store, provisions, bonded store and technical supplies to vessels in Norwegian ports. Naturally the geographical area can be expanded  need be.

We have our own Car park of large trailers for frozen, chilled and dry provisions. We  control the logistic entirely our self and are not dependent of others in order to reach a vessel at a specific time and place, without any additional charges to our customers.

Besides deliveries to the Merchant marine, we also supply a large fleet of Naval Vessel of different Nationality. Additionally we supply large amount of bonded store to the Armed Forces in Europe. Embassies in Europe and world wide are also among our customers.

Our main office is located in the port of Antwerp. We have a large stock of daily consumables, all kind of bonded store and technical supplies. We have two Government Custom Officers employed on permanent basis. This allows us to keep the bonded store on our own premises, as well as receiving and delivery of spares for the owners as they may need on a 24 hour basis.
